1. Overview

MemPort is a Chrome extension that enables users to export and import their ChatGPT memory. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR, EEA consumer protection laws, and CCPA.

2. What Information We Access

We do not collect, transmit, or store your memory content or other personal data on external servers for the core export/import feature.

All memory data is processed locally within your browser and only when you actively use the extension.

Health monitoring (required for service operation): We receive minimal, anonymized data only when a SCAN or EXTRACT operation fails or encounters an issue (e.g., action type, error reason, extension version, timestamp, anonymized URL, user-agent (browser info), and IP). Successful operations send no data to our server. Memory content is never included. This is required so we can detect when the service stops working (e.g., after ChatGPT page changes). Voluntary feedback (e.g., report forms) is insufficient for us to identify such issues in time. When critical failures occur, we may send alerts to our development team (aggregate/summary only, not personally identifiable).

We do NOT access or collect:

• Personally identifiable information (e.g., name, email, phone)
• Financial or payment information
• Health or biometric data
• Browsing history, mouse activity, or keystrokes
• Location data or device identifiers

3. Purpose of Use

We access your memory data only to enable the following features:

• Export: Save memory as a .csv file
• Import: Restore memory into a ChatGPT session or account
• Health monitoring (required): We only receive data when SCAN or EXTRACT fails or has an issue; successful operations send nothing. This lets us detect when the service stops working (e.g., after ChatGPT page changes) and send alerts when critical failures occur—voluntary feedback alone does not allow us to detect these issues in time

We do not use your data for analytics, ads, or tracking.

4. Data Storage & Transmission

• All memory processing occurs locally in your browser
• Your memory content is never sent to any remote server
• We do not log, store, or sync your memory data
• Exported files are saved only to your device
• For service stability, we only receive data when a SCAN or EXTRACT operation fails; successful operations send nothing. Data received is anonymized, retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted, and may trigger alerts to our development team when critical failures occur.

5. User Consent & Control

• You voluntarily install MemPort via the Chrome Web Store
• No data is accessed without your manual action
• You can uninstall at any time
• All data remains under your local control

6. Legal Basis and Compliance

GDPR / EEA

• Lawful Basis: Consent through installation and interaction
• Data Minimization: Only memory content is accessed
• Purpose Limitation: No other use beyond import/export
• Storage Limitation: No external logging
• Transparency: This document discloses all usage

We do not act as a data controller or processor under GDPR.

CCPA

• No data is sold, shared, or transferred
• No personal information is collected

7. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure

In accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, MemPort:

• Uses data only to provide its intended functionality
• Never uses data for advertising
• Does not transfer data to third parties
